Thanks Dan Ahn….(Do u have a site I can link?)
A bit of a straw-man and anecdotal, but still funny. I don’t think this commentary applies solely to liberals though either. All of us act on upon our own interests; at least the libertarians embrace this wholeheartedly. Of course this is somewhat unsatisfying, the selfish motive I feel will never be embraced, and with good reason. If anything, the fact that there were only 1% saints, demonstrates at the micro-level the failures of Christians (especially myself). Our calling is ultimately to be selfless, like Christ, but we fail time after time. While blogging is indeed fun, I am aware that is not the hard work.
Perhaps this is what is so appealing about Ambrose Bierce’s definition of a Christian to non-believers:
Christian (n.)– One who believes that the New Testament is a divinely inspired book admirably suited to the spiritual needs of his neighbor.
